Hood Canal Adventures

Testimonials

“When my wife and I decided to spend the summer on Hood Canal I decided to buy a kayak to spend time exploring and get some exercise. After much research I decided on the Heritage Featherlite for its ease of paddling, tracking ability, and at thirty eight pounds, its portability. One major consideration for me was stability. Hood Canal Adventures let me test paddle a couple of different boats free. I found with its flat bottom and thirty inch cockpit width, the Featherlite was extremely stable. I purchased the kayak at Hood Canal Adventures in Union, Washington. The owners and staff were extremely helpful, friendly, and know their kayaks. Since my purchase I have tried two or three other kayaks and am convinced that I made the right choice!”

“I wanted to send you a note to thank you for the recent kayaking trip my sisters and I took while visiting the canal.  We couldn’t have asked for better service.  Since two of us had never been kayaking we asked you many questions.  You made us comfortable and assured us that we would do just fine.  The equipment was in great shape and was very easy to use.  This was our first “sisters” weekend and it turned out wonderful.  Even my sister Desirae, who is pregnant, enjoyed the trip and was very comfortable in the kayak.  Thanks for taking the picture of us, I’ve included a copy.  We hope to visit you again very soon to try out your Sunset Dessert Tour.  Thanks again!”

“The kayak journey was on the first day of camp, so we got back to the conclusion of our journey around the canal on Friday evening. During camp, we tend to burn the candle on both ends, so by Friday the campers (and the staff) are fairly well tuckered out.

I truly appreciated the willingness of the Kayak Hood Canal staff to work with the Adventure Salmon Camp and accommodate our timing and logistics requests.  The introductory briefing and life-jacket fitting for our group of 20+ was very effective and efficient.  It's not always easy dealing with 20 teenager campers, but the staff provided great direction and guidance.

It was also incredibly helpful that you offered to provide all the kayaks we used at your remote launch site in order to facilitate our exploration of the Skokomish River estuary and salt marsh.  It is an amazing place.  Amongst the scenery and all the amazing discoveries, we saw vultures teetering in the wind, and seals sneaking up behind our kayaks.  A juvenile Bald Eagle greeted us just as we launched from the edge of the water. Thanks for working with the flow and energy of our camp.  You provided a great initial experience to our four-day journey around Hood Canal!”

“We wanted to thank you for a wonderful evening. We really enjoyed taking the dessert tour this past weekend.  The sunset on the canal was so beautiful and the dessert was superb!!  The wine pairing was exceptional and we hope to see you again next year. Thank you again.”
